Buckle Bear

DRIVE SMART’S Buckle Bear program teaches Middle School students how to educate Head Start, preschool, and young elementary school aged children about the importance of staying buckled up, in the backseat, and in a booster seat. Do date, we have presented to almost 15,000 children!

During the presentation, the children meet two Buckle Bears, one a lap puppet and one life-size. The program includes music, movement and worksheets, as well as weighing the children to determine the correct size safety or booster seat for their height and weight.

Every child receives safety information, educational coloring books, stickers, as well as background information for parents about safety seats. Also, the teachers may receive BUCKLE BEAR posters for their classrooms and activity pages, so they can extend the program on a daily basis.

In addition, Drive Smart holds child car seat “check points” where child car seats can be inspected for proper installation and use.
